Painter, born in Bristol, father an engineer, who studied at Slade School of Fine Art from 1907, meeting her future husband, Gerald Summers, there in 1909, marrying in 1912. They were extensive travellers in England, Ireland and on the continent, leading a bohemian life, friends of Augustus John, whose work influenced Nora’s. In 1923 settled in Ferndown, Dorset, where Nora bred prize goats and took up photography. Latterly suffered from illness and alcohol. Showed extensively at NEAC, also Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool and was represented in The Summers Family at Sally Hunter Fine Art, 1995, with a solo show there in 1998.
