Audrey Elfreda E. Shiner (1900–1985)

Thurrock Museum

Painter, especially of portraits, and teacher, born in Grays, Essex. Studied at Central School of Arts and Crafts and Slade School of Fine Art, her teachers including Henry Tonks and Tancred Borenius. Also studied on continent. Taught at Winterbourne Collegiate School in the early 1950s. Showed RWA and at other venues in the west of England. Lived in Chipping Sodbury, near Bristol.
