Painter, draughtsman, muralist and teacher, born in Bicester, Oxfordshire. He attended Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts, 1957–61, Slade School of Fine Art, 1961–3, with a postgraduate year in painting in 1963–4, in 1964 going on a private scholarship to Greece. From 1982 he was a teacher at Sir John Cass arts faculty, being a visiting lecturer at Newcastle University. Completed a mural for National Trust. Among his several prizes were a first prize in the Spirit of London show at Royal Festival Hall in 1980, another in The World of Newspapers at Sotheby’s in 1982. His other mixed exhibi- tion appearances included Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge, Whitechapel Open at Whitechapel Art Gallery and LG and RA. He had a solo show at Cadogan Contemporary in 1990.
