Sculptor and teacher, born in Perth, Perthshire. Studied at Edinburgh College of Art, 1960, with Eric Schilsky and Norman John Forrest, then Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee, 1960–6, teachers including Hugh Adam Crawford, and abroad. Later lectured in sculpture and fine art in Dundee. Was elected to SPS in 1966, was a council member of SSA, 1972–5, and was made a fellow of RBS in 1975, holding several senior positions. Also showed at RSA and Paris Salon, where he won Bronze and Silver Medals. Other awards included RSA’s Sir William Gillies Award and RBS’s Otto Beit Medal, both 1989. Scottish Arts Council hold his work. Lived in Dundee, Angus.
