Painter, draughtsman and teacher notable for portraits, born into a versatile artistic family in London. She studied at Regent Street Polytechnic School of Art for four years, teachers including Norman Blamey; in France; and for a year at Brighton College of Art. Other influences were the artists Patrick Larking and Zdzisław Ruszkowski. Roe, also known by her married name of Ann Jones, became head of art and design at the Grammar School, Colyton, Devon, where she lived. She was president of Colyton Leisure Painters, and a member of Seaton Art Society and of the Kenn Group, Exeter. Also exhibited at PS, Mall Galleries and had a solo show at The Market Place Gallery.
