Portrait painter, until 1979 exhibiting as John Piggins, born in Birmingham. He studied at Slade School of Fine Art, 1945–8, teachers including Randolph Schwabe, then Ruskin School of Drawing in Oxford, 1950, with Albert Rutherston. Showed at PS of which he was a member, RP, out of London and abroad. Lived in Hartpury, Gloucestershire.
