Painter and teacher born in London. Educated Streatham, then studied at Edinburgh College of Art, where she was an Andrew Grant Scholar, 1942–4 and 1945–7, her teachers including William Gillies and John Maxwell. In 1948 a travelling scholarship took her to Italy. She went on to work for a time in the education department of Kelvingrove Museum and Art Galleries, in Glasgow, where she settled. Showed widely in Scotland, including SSA, RSA and elsewhere, having a number of solo shows in Edinburgh and Glasgow. The Universities of Glasgow and Strathclyde hold her work.
