Versatile artist using a range of media who studied at the Ruskin School of Drawing, Oxford, 1981–4; Slade School of Fine Art, under Bruce McLean 1985–7; Kunstakademie, Düsseldorf, Germany, with Gerhardt Richter and Jan Dibbets, 1988–90; and Rijksakademie, Amsterdam, Netherlands, with Klaas Hoek and John Hilliard, 1993–4. Awards included Boise Travelling Fellowship, 1987; DAAD Scholarship, 1988; Rijksakademie Bursary, 1993; Elephant Trust catalogue award and South West Arts Brymon Airways enhanced project award, both 1995. Group shows included Oxide Cinema, Rijksakademie, 1994; Performance, video installation, collaboration with Oliver Herring, Camden Arts Centre, 1997; SHOW, Elizabeth Dee Gallery, New York, America, 1999; and Recent Paintings, shared with Alan Brooks and Roy Voss, Newlyn Art Gallery, 2000.
