Painter and concert harpist, whose pictures were bright, colourful and full of whimsical humour. She studied the harp with David Watkins, principal harpist at the Royal Opera House, gaining a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music and receiving lessons from the famous Welsh harpist, Ossian Ellis. While studying with Solange Renie-Sigouret, in Paris, she lived with the family of artist André Hambourg, which fostered her interest in painting. During the 1980s Pamphilon started painting at Homerton College, Cambridge, and held a first solo exhibition there at Newnham College, Cambridge, 1986, near where she lived. In 2002, Pamphilon shared an exhibition at Ainscough Contemporary Art with her partner, the sculptor Christopher Marvell. Thompson’s Gallery also showed Pamphilon’s work.
