Sculptor and teacher, born in Musselburgh, Midlothian, working in a wide variety of materials. Studied at Edinburgh College of Art, sculpture with Eric Schilsky, 1947–52. Went on to lecture on visual arts at Moray House College, Edinburgh. Munro was a member of SSA, RSA and Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts and an associate of RBS. He several times won the RSA’s Sculpture Award. Showed extensively in Scotland, also at Swansea University and in France. Lived at Loanhead, Lothian, then returned to Musselburgh.
