Artist notable for coloured reliefs with city and suburb as their theme; teacher. He was born in Sedgefield, County Durham, his artistic career being prompted by his father’s work as a stone-carver. Studied fine art at Sunderland College of Art and Goldsmiths’ College School of Art. Also formative for Moody were periods in North America in the 1960s and two separate years at London University, studying aesthetics and the sociology and psychology of art. Went on to teach with the arts policy and management department at City University. Showed at Air, Whitechapel, Royal College of Art, RA Business Art and Curwen Galleries. Also exhibited at Tolly Cobbold/Eastern Arts Fifth National Exhibition and Woodlands Art Gallery, where he had a solo show in 1986.
