Painter, ceramist and teacher, born in Cannes, France, who attended Oxford University. He studied at St Martin’s School of Art, printmaking at Central School of Art and Oskar Kokoschka’s classes in London. Went to Cornwall in 1949, living in Mevagissey, then moved to Falmouth in 1967 where he was principal lecturer in art history and complementary studies at the School of Art until 1981, on retirement moving to Paphos, Cyprus. Early in the 1990s returned to settle in Devon. Exhibited widely throughout Britain, Ireland and Cyprus, notably Woodstock Gallery and Dartington Hall; in 1989 was included in Newlyn Orion Galleries show A Century of Art in Cornwall 1889–1989; then in 1994 in Falmouth Connections at Falmouth Art Gallery.
