Painter, draughtsman and poet whose work, at the time of her solo show at the Museum of Modern Art, Machynlleth, in 2001, was “concerned with combining abstracted sound and landscapes. I use the energetic and expressive marks of drawing to convey mood, emotion, and to fuse the visible and spiritual image.” She studied at Bournemouth College of Art, 1964; the College of Further Education there, 1980–2; and Coleg Meirion Dwyfor, Dolgellau, 1998–9. Awards included British Airways, finalist, design prize, 1998; Llanderfel Open Art Exhibition, Bala, prize winner, 1999; Aberystwyth Arts Centre, prize for poetry, and North Wales Wildlife Trust prize for drawing and WAC New Artist Grant, all 2000; Talacre Landscape Competition, purchase prize, painting, 2001; and Meirionydd Perpetual Cup for Art, winner, painting, 2001 and 2002.
