Painter and teacher, notable for her concentration on each mark and brushstroke, born in Cornwall. She was awarded a first-class honours degree at Falmouth College of Art, 1991–4, and her master’s in painting, with distinction, at the Slade School of Fine Art, 1997–9. She gained a Liquitex Award for Excellence, 1994; Boise Travel Scholarship, at the Slade, 1995, with an Audrey Wykeham Prize for Painting there, 1998. McCausland was a visiting lecturer on her own practice as a representative of the Arts Dyslexia Trust, Dyslexia Conference, Dartington Hall, 1995, also teaching at Slade School, 1998–9, and Leeds Metropolitan University, 1999. She co-ordinated large-scale painting workshops at Watermans Arts Centre, 1999. Was included in Now Showing II, Houldsworth Fine Art, 1999.
