Artist in oil, watercolour and ceramics, and teacher, born in Sopron, Hungary. He studied while in the Polish Army, 1938–45, in Dundee and Edinburgh, 1940–3, with Winifred and Alison McKenzie, then at Liverpool College of Art, 1945–7, under William Penn. From 1947–78 was art master at Monmouth School. Among his main works were two large ceramic murals, based on designs by Adam Kossowski, at Monmouth School Chapel; two paintings for the church in Wrocław, Poland; an altar painting at St Briavels Chapel; Stations of the Cross for the church in Otford, Kent; Madonna at Aylesford Priory, Kent; and Madonna at St Gregory Church, Cheltenham. Had solo shows in Monmouth, Oxford and London, showing widely in the provinces. With his brother Ludwik and daughter Anna exhibited at the International Arts Festival, Llangibby, in 1995.
