Sculptor and teacher, born in Singapore. He was educated at Elgin Academy, in Morayshire, then in 1954–6 was at Bretton Hall College of Education, in Yorkshire, followed in 1958–61 by studies at the fine art department of King’s College, Durham University. Began lecturing on abstract sculpture at Salford School of Art in 1961, was Gulbenkian Fellow at Keele University, 1964–5, further posts following at Newport College of Art and Sheffield Polytechnic. Took part in many group shows, including LG, Bear Lane Gallery in Oxford, Grosvenor Gallery and Mappin Gallery, Sheffield. One-man show at Keele University, 1965. In 1970 he was joint first prize winner at WAC show Towards Sculpture. Commissions include a commemorative sculpture for Milford Haven, unveiled by HM The Queen in 1968.
