Sculptor, son of the designer Joseph Letts, born in Birmingham, where he studied at the Birmingham School of Art under the head of sculpture William Bloye, 1945–9. Showed in London and widely in the Midlands. In 1985 he completed a statue of the novelist George Eliot for the centre of Nuneaton, Warwickshire, near where she had lived. Public gallery in Stratford-upon-Avon also holds Letts’ work. He lived at Astley, near Nuneaton.
