Sculptor, born in Hawick, Roxburghshire, whose early exhibited work prompted an Andrew Grant Bequest for studies at Edinburgh College of Art under Eric Schilsky, 1951–6. After his diploma, Landles developed abstracted work in a range of materials, from 1977 changing course to produce figurative bronzes. He was elected a professional member of SSA in 1986 and of SSWA in 1994. Also showed at RSA, Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts, Aberdeen Artists’ Society, Scottish Sculpture Workshop and Scottish Art Exhibition at Gatwick Airport, 1986. In 1996 was included in a three-artist show at Kingfisher Gallery, Edinburgh. Commissions included portraits and the Scottish Junior Rugby Trophy for the Royal Bank of Scotland. The Will H Ogilvie Memorial near Ashkirk, Roxburghshire, was completed in 1994, the Ogilvie Memorial at Bourke, New South Wales, Australia, in 1995.
