Artist in oil, pastel, watercolour and black-and-white, born and lived in Stansted, Essex. Johnson was a self-taught painter and draughtsman who passed on his skills in his Introduction to Sketching. Exhibited widely in Britain, at the NS, PS and Russell-Cotes Art Gallery and Museum, Bournemouth. Had a solo show in Bishop’s Stortford, near where he lived.
