Painter, draughtsman, constructions artist and teacher, born in Liverpool. He attended the College of Art there and after distinguished military service abroad – he won the Military Cross in 1944 – in World War II was again at Liverpool College of Art, 1946–50. In 1957 he was included in Jack Beddington’s book Young Artists of Promise. Went on to teach at several venues, being head of creative arts at Trinity College, Carmarthen, until retirement in 1983. He was a founder-member of 56 Group Wales, served on WAC art committee and as chairman of the visual arts panel of West Wales Arts Association. Took part in many group exhibitions, including SEA, SWG, Royal National Eisteddfod, where he was a judge for painting, and several shows of Welsh painting and the modern movement in Wales and abroad.
