Artist in mixed media, sometimes on a large scale, as in Rape, of 1978, owned by Arts Council; teacher. She studied at Carlisle College of Art and Royal Academy Schools. Among her awards was a Royal Academy Schools Bronze Medal, a British Council Scholarship to Italy and Northern Arts and Arts Council grants. Went on to teach widely, including Royal College of Art, Slade School of Fine Art and Goldsmiths’ College. Mixed exhibitions included Art for Society, Whitechapel Art Gallery and tour, 1978; Some British Art from the Left, Artists’ Space, New York, 1979; and Woodlands Art Gallery and tour, 1981–2, in Greater London Arts Association award show. Solo shows included Carlisle City Art Gallery and tour, 1980–1. In 1989 Harrison’s work was was one of Three Women Artists (with Dora Altounyan and Sheila Fell) at Abbot Hall Art Gallery, Kendal.
