Margaret May Giles [also known as Mrs. Bernard M. Jenkin, and as Margaret M. Jenkin] was born in Clifton, Bristol, England on 20 May 1868 and studied at the studied under Edward (Edouard) Lanteri at the National Art Training School in South Kensington [now Royal College of Art] in London. She subsequently worked as a sculptor, medallist and painter. She participated in the exhibitions of the Arts & Crafts Exhibition Society in London in 1893, 1899, 1912 and 1916. She also exhibited at the Royal Academy, Royal Society of British Artists, New Gallery, Ridley Art Club, and The International Society of Sculptors, Painters and Gravers in London; Leeds City Art Gallery; Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts; and Royal West of England Academy in Bristol.
On 16 June 1898 she married Bernard Maxwell Jenkin and subsequently sometimes exhibited under her married name. She died on 31 March 1949. Her address at the time of her death was 25b Durdham Park, Bristol.
