Artist who graduated in fine art from Newcastle, 1973–7; won a Max Beckmann Scholarship, Brooklyn Museum Art School, New York, 1977–8; then studied advanced printmaking at Central St Martins, 1989–91. Her prizes included an Oppenheim-John Downes Memorial Trust Award and Great London Arts Visual Arts Production Grant, both 1991, and a London Arts Board Awards to Individual Artists Grant and British Council Award, both 1993. Took part in many group exhibitions, later ones including Plot, Paper Bag Factory, 2000, and Installation, Queen of Hungary, Norwich, and Borderline, Veemvloer, Amsterdam, Netherlands, both 2002. Among her solo shows were Riverside Studios, 1991; Cornerhouse, Manchester, 1992; Grey Art Gallery, New York, 1993; and Hirschl Contemporary Art, from 2001.
