Painter, draughtsman and teacher, born in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire. He attended Leicester and Brighton Colleges of Art. Went on to teach, from 1930–57 being head of Newark-on-Trent School of Art. He had an interest in architecture and in puppetry. Showed in the Midlands and has work in Newark Municipal Museum. Lived finally at Acomb, York.
