Versatile artist and teacher, born in Calcutta, India, who studied painting there at the Government College of Art and Craft, then did postgraduate studies at Central School of Art and Design and Hertfordshire College of Art, St Albans. He taught at Central St Martins College of Art and Froebel College at Surrey University. Showed extensively solo in Scandinavia, India and London, later exhibitions including British Council Gallery, Calcutta, 1995; Mermaid Theatre Gallery, 1996, and Meghraj Gallery, 1997. Ghosh carried out a number of mosaic, tile mural, stained glass and sculptural glass public commissions, venues including Eastman Dental Hospital, 1991–2; Kelvedon House, 1996; and West Middlesex University Hospital, 1997. Victoria & Albert Museum, Arts Council and many other collections in Britain and abroad hold Ghosh’s work.
