Abstract sculptor and teacher, born in Johannesburg, South Africa. After studying at Hull College of Art, 1980–3, and Royal College of Art, 1986–8, Gabie went on to teach at Cheltenham and Gloucester College of Higher Education. He was included in the River exhibition at Goldsmiths’ Gallery in 1990 and in the 1993–4 Arts Council touring show Recent British Sculpture. Solo shows included Camden Arts Centre, 1987, and Spacex Gallery, Exeter, 1991. Hales Gallery sold his work. Gabie lived near Stroud, Gloucestershire.
