Painter and printmaker, born in Atherstone, Warwickshire, who studied at Leicester School of Art, 1939, then lithography at the Central School of Arts and Crafts. She was very influenced by the work of Polish and German painters, including several who moved to England, particularly Zdzislaw Ruszkowski, Walter Nessler and Jan Wieliczko. Group shows included RA, NEAC, WIAC, Christopher Hull Gallery and the Camden Annual. Had a series of shows at John Whibley Gallery from 1960, later ones including Sue Rankin Gallery, 1986, and Stables, Birmingham, from 1993. Her work was included in Ian Simpson’s 1990 book The Challenge of Landscape Painting. Arts Council; Victoria & Albert Museum; Nuneaton, Beecroft in Southend and Portsmouth Art Galleries; and many education committees held Fox’s work.
