Painter, born in Hull, who over the years worked as a window-cleaner and as a life-boatman based at Withernsea. His witty, mannered, figurative picture The Exhibition, 1983, was shown in the 1984 Winter Exhibition at Ferens Art Gallery, Hull, which acquired it for its collection.
