Painter who was born and continued to work in London. She attended Oxford University to read English, 1983–6, before gaining a Master of Fine Arts degree from Newcastle University, 1986–8. Travelled to New York on a Northern Arts Travel Award in 1989, then held the 1989–90 fellowship in painting at Exeter College of Art. She exhibited widely, including solo shows at the Collective Gallery in Edinburgh and Southwark College Gallery and group exhibitions at Spacex Gallery, Sheffield, Pomeroy Purdy and Herbert Art Gallery, Coventry. In 1991 she took up a fellowship at Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in America, then in 1992–3 was the visiting fellow in painting at Winchester School of Art.
