Oil and watercolour painter. Studied at the Grosvenor School of Modern Art, Royal Academy Schools and in Paris. Son of Sir William Russell Flint, RA, Francis was an official Admiralty artist who exhibited at the RA, RSA, elsewhere in Britain, Africa, Canada and the USA. His pictures were mainly of marine subjects and they were reproduced in many publications, including Royal Academy Illustrated, Illustrated London News, Sketch and Tatler. He wrote for The Artist and The Studio and several books on watercolour painting. Lived at Burgess Hill, Sussex.
