Painter and teacher, born near Accrington, Lancashire, married to the painter Patricia Fishwick. He attended Liverpool School of Art, 1940–2, then after Naval service returned to complete his studies, 1946–7, including art teacher’s diploma. Fishwick combined a busy painting career with teaching at Exeter College of Art, becoming principal, 1958–84. He was a member of the Newlyn Society from 1952–83 and exhibited at the Penwith Society in 1950s–1960s and had a solo show in 1983. Fishwick showed solo at St George’s Gallery, in 1957, others including Dartington Hall, 1959; Exeter University, 1961; Plymouth City Art Gallery, 1966; Essex University, 1976; Spacex Gallery, Exeter, 1982; and works of the 1950s at Austin/Desmond Fine Art, 1989, with other works, 1990.
