Versatile artist who studied sculpture and printmaking at Bath Academy of Arts, 1975–9. Children’s drawings sometimes inspired his commissions. Farrington often worked in metal, as for his three steel sculptures Trawl Door, Pillar and The Circle, sited in 1990 on a cliff top on the Cleveland Way, at Skelton. They stemmed from a New Milestones residency organised by Cleveland Arts working with Common Ground.
