Artist, designer, teacher and gallery proprietor, born in London. He studied at Brighton College of Art, 1956, teachers including Raymond Cowern, Charles Knight and Ernest Sallis Benney, in Norway, 1960, and in 1961 at London University with Ronald Horton. Went on to teach at Leek School of Art. England was president of the Society of Staffordshire Artists and a member of the Free Painters and Sculptors. Showed at RI, RBA, widely in the provinces and at Paris Salon, where he won silver and gold medals. Solo shows included Octagon Gallery in Bolton, University of Keele and abroad. Stoke-on-Trent City Museum and Art Gallery holds England’s work. Lived in Leek, Staffordshire, where he ran his own gallery.
