Painter and illustrator, producing exquisite, minutely detailed pictures strongly influenced by music. He was born in Derby, the son of a commercial artist, and was encouraged to paint; his mother, a pianist, played Steve Chopin preludes. After St Helens College of Art and Design, graduated in Coventry. Mixed exhibitions included RWA, from 1978, and RA Summer Exhibition, 1980. From 1988, he also exhibited with the U S Open Pro. Indoor Tennis Art Exhibition, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Having visited the Portal Gallery as a student, Easby began showing there in 1986, having a series of solo exhibitions from 1991. Monet, Seurat, the Pre-Raphaelites, Klimt, O’Keefe and Turner were all cited as influences, “because they pierce the usual barriers of human consciousness while still maintaining an empathy for humanity and nature.
