Joyce Evelyn Doo (1924–1990)

Born Joyce Evelyn Laye on 10th January 1924, she was married in Wandsworth in 1958 to Nien-Chia Doo (Hong Kong, 1919–Wandsworth, 1999).
As Miss Joyce E. Laye, she exhibited one work at the Royal Academy in 1957 and one in 1958 from 13 Tideswell Road (Putney), London. As Mrs Joyce E. Doo and still at the same address, she showed two works at the RA in 1961, but two shown in 1966 were from 24 Hazelwell Road, Putney. There is a photograph of her in the Fulham Chronicle of 16th November 1979, in her role as Chairman of the Society of Fulham Artists. She was a friend of Carel Victor Morlais Weight, whose portrait of her appeared at auction.
She died at 24 Hazelwell Road on 25th May 1990.
