Painter in oil and teacher who studied at Sedgley Park College. She taught in comprehensive and further education painting semi-professionally until 1989, then painted full-time. Her main theme was “elemental aspects of nature, spending most time painting the wilder parts of Britain and the west of Ireland”. Dewsbury was a member of MAFA. She exhibited with ROI, RCamA, and at the Edinburgh Festival and Bath Contemporary Arts Festival. Showed solo at Saddleworth Festival regularly from 1984. Lived in Greenfield, Oldham, Lancashire.
