Painter, poster and mural artist and book illustrator, born in London. He studied at the People’s Palace Technical School, Whitechapel, then at Bolt Court School. Worked as a designer in industry, which later proved useful in his public poster and mural work. Also assisted Frank Brangwyn. Exhibited RA, RI, SGA, Whitechapel Art Gallery and elsewhere. Illustrated several books. Public galleries, including Preston, Bristol and Canterbury, hold his work. Lived at Woolage Green, near Canterbury, Kent.
