Painter, inspired by the poet Arthur Rimbaud, who explored the visual connection between what people see and say and employed a number of treasured forms: the triangle the symbol of the soul, windows of perception and the Christian cross. He was born in Casablanca of a Moroccan Jewish mother and French father and suffered a dislocated childhood. Initially determined to be an actor, but turned to painting. Studied at Conservatoire National de Musique de Toulon, 1967–70; École Nationale Superieure des Arts et Techniques du Theatre, Paris, 1971–3; and Beaux-Arts de Toulon, for printmaking, 1980–3. Group shows included Fischer Fine Art, 1978; Stamford Arts Centre, 1985; Air Gallery, 1989; and Tricycle Gallery, 1993. Also had many mixed exhibitions in France and solo shows from late 1960s; British one-mans included in 1995 Ben Uri Art Gallery, Tricycle Gallery and The Living Room.
