Printmaker, painter, film art director and designer, and writer, born in London. His real name was Edward Anthony Craig, he was the son of the artist Edward Gordon Craig and grandson of the actress Ellen Terry. For many of his early years he lived with his father and studied in Italy, returning to England soon after the mid-1920s. Exhibited at St George’s and Redfern Galleries, at Art Institute of Chicago and with the Grubb Group, of which he was founder and president; his illustrations appeared in such publications as Artwork, Architect’s Review and Bookman’s Journal as well as in several books, including Edmund Blunden’s In Summer and Edith Sitwell’s In Spring, both 1931; and he painted murals in a number of theatres, including Cambridge Theatre, the Victoria News Theatre and at Easton Manor, near Dunmow, Essex.
