Watercolourist, born in Bedfordshire, married to the artist David Carpanini. She was a regular tutor on weekend courses and contributed to the instructional magazines The Artist and Leisure Painter. Studied at Luton College of Technology, 1967–8, Brighton College of Art, 1968–71, and Reading University, 1971–2. She was elected to RWA in 1977, and in 1978 to RBA and RWS, eventually serving as its honorary treasurer. Much of Carpanini’s work was inspired by Snowdonia; she lived at Caernarfon, Gwynedd. Her pictures were tinged with an intense, almost severe realism. She showed at many private galleries, including Patricia Wells Gallery, Thornbury; Fosse Gallery in Stow-on-the-Wold; and Albany Gallery, and her pictures were reproduced in limited edition prints, as postcards and Christmas cards.
