Artist who studied at Wigan College of Technology, 1988–90; gained an honours degree in fine art at Winchester School of Art, 1990–3; and a postgraduate diploma at Slade School of Fine Art, 1993–5. Group shows included The Gasworks and Lisson Galleries, both 1995; Car II, Hales Gallery, 1996; and in 1999 Formerly at Jerwood Gallery, where Cannon showed works based on Formica recalling Barnett Newman’s abstractions “reinvented through the aesthetics of 1950s décor and South London grunge.” Solo exhibitions included Duncan Cargill Gallery, 1998. The Department of Trade and Industry holds Cannon’s work.
