Painter and draughtsman, born in Newmilns, Ayrshire. He did diploma and post-diploma studies at Gray’s School of Art, Aberdeen, followed by a travelling scholarship. Additional studies included a short time at Slade School of Fine Art, for drawing, and in France. He won the Keith Prize in the RSA competition in 1934. Showed in a variety of exhibitions and was a member of SSA. Aberdeen Art Gallery and Newport Art Gallery hold his work. Lived in Aberdeen.
