Painter and illustrator, born in London. Initially studied art at evening classes at the Regent Street Polytechnic School of Art, and at St Martin’s School of Art. He did a large amount of commercial work: book jackets and illustrations and drawings for Strand and Windsor magazines. During World War II he was for several years studio manager with a leading London advertising agency. A member of Croydon Art Society, he lived at Shirley, Surrey.
