Painter, born in Exmouth, Devon. Although mainly self-taught, in the 1950s he attended St Martin’s School of Art and West of England Academy in Bristol part-time. Painted abstract and figurative works. Showed with Arthur Tooth, 1973; was included in the Arts Council tour Fragments Against Ruin, 1981–2; and the RWA exhibition Artists from Cornwall, 1992. Arts Council holds his pictures Lover’s Leap, 1972, and Self Portrait, 1977. Bourne lived a simple life in a fisherman’s cottage at Newlyn, Cornwall.
