Painter and teacher, born in Dundee, Angus, working in a wide range of media, producing colourful landscapes, mostly of northeast Scotland. Boag attended Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee, 1965–9, and Gray’s School of Art, Aberdeen, 1998–9, obtaining his diploma and master’s degree in fine art. He was head of art at Aberdeen Grammar School. Exhibited widely in Scottish and London galleries from 1968, with a solo show entitled joie de vivre at Eduardo Allessandro Studios, Broughty Ferry, Dundee, 2003. Several corporate collections hold examples. His pictures were published as limited-edition prints and silkscreens.
