Painter, wood engraver and teacher, born at Harborne, Birmingham. Studied at Kidderminster School of Art under William Daly, 1924–8, then at Birmingham College of Art, 1928–9, with Harold Holden. Exhibited RA, NEAC, NS, PS, Paris Salon and elsewhere. He held the post of vice-principal at York School of Arts and Crafts from 1929. York and Kidderminster art galleries hold his work which was included in the Recording Britain exhibition at Victoria & Albert Museum in 1990. Lived in Kidderminster, Worcestershire.
