
Bill Billings (1938–2007)
Artist and teacher, born in London, who trained at the London School of Printing. He settled in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, being involved in community arts there from 1974, was employed as community artist in 1978–80 and undertook two residencies in the city’s schools. He was also a published poet, writer and playwright. His Triceratops, in concrete, was sited in 1979 at Peartree Bridge, Milton Keynes. Billings was a part-time lecturer in sculpture at Bletchley College and had an honorary master’s degree from the Open University. Billings was included in the 10th Anniversary Exhibition of The Silbury Group of Artists at Milton Keynes Gallery in 2001–2.
