Cartoonist, painter and printmaker, born in London. He attended Gloucester School of Art, then gradually became known for his contributions to publications such as Punch, The Tatler and Vanity Fair. Showed extensively at RA, Fine Art Society and Leicester Galleries, where his shows such as London Types and Characters and London Life and Character before World War I were very successful. Died at Chiddingfold, Surrey, having a retrospective at Cranleigh Hall seven years later, with another at Marc Oxley Fine Art, Uppingham, 1995. Tate Gallery holds his work.
