Painter and teacher, born H Bruce Barnden, who was for a time head of Chichester School of Art. He exhibited at the RA Summer Exhibition, 1957–67, a picture in 1960 being worthy of reproduction in The Daily Telegraph. Barnden’s 1961 painting Mill Near Midhurst, depicting Terwick Mill, near Rogate, which closed in 1966, is in the collection of Worthing Museum & Art Gallery. Lived at Cocking, Midhurst, Sussex.
