Artist using various media including collage, born in Devon, who trained as an art teacher in Cheltenham in World War II. In 1952 moved to London and showed work during late 1950s at Beaux Arts Gallery and at Gallery One. During 1963–4 worked in France. Returning to England, he settled in Blackheath, southeast London, in 1969. Showed occasionally, then had a major exhibition at Woodlands Art Gallery in 1977 covering 20 years, organised with the assistance of Greater London Arts Association. The work ranged from Cubist-influenced depictions of Devon coast to highly stylised work touching on “the myths, legends and archetypes that are so much part of our inner life”.
